Survived the triathlon
A beautiful warm summer day at the lake at Immenstadt and some 2,600 athletes ready to race. Swim first and the water temperature was about 20 degrees - very warm for a European fresh water lake - but despite this most people still wore a neoprene wetsuit. Followed by a long bike ride with some brutal hills - total elevation gain about 1,300m. Locals lined the streets ringing cow bells for encouragement! Finished up with a picturesque but hot run around the lake. A total time out on the course of 6 hours 27 minutes. Loved the claps and cheers of the family as I crossed the finish line.
