Christmas markets

Image
The famous Christmas markets have started in towns and cities around Germany. Stuttgart has quite a large area of them in the city centre. We visited for the first time on Thursday night - some german sausages in bread rolls, warm drinks and a round of ice skating. We'll be back so expect more photos like this over the next couple of weeks!

Schondorf

Image
The incredibly quaint and picturesque village of Schondorf about half an hour out of Stuttgart by train. In the pictures is a chemist, bakery and a bookstore (in that location since 1596)! The town Christmas tree is up too waiting to be decorated and lit.

Out of the window

This is the view from Zara and Max's bedroom. It's fairly high density living in our neighbourhood but still with some green space.

Wise visit

Kelvin and Janene Wise visited last weekend from London. It was chilly and overcast but we still had fun.

Christmas is coming

Image
The big tree 🎄 has arrived in Stuttgart. It's right in the centre of the city near the palace. The Christmas markets are also setting up and due to open in about a week. We'll be making lots of visits there before we leave!

Vet visit

Image
Today Georgie was at the vet to have blood taken for some tests - part of the lengthy and complex process of getting her back to Australia. The vet had to draw from both her front legs. So it wasn't very comfortable for the little thing - she has very short legs. He bandaged them up, gave her a treat and she was on her way home. She leaves Germany in about three weeks and will spend 10 days in quarantine in Melbourne before she is allowed to be released. We're very lucky that Grandad has agreed to pick her up and bring her back to Queensland for Christmas.
